Treated like a princess ...

Well I am feeling better, it hurts to talk, but George is taking amazing care of me. He set up a "station" for me at the end of the couch, with my computer, cell phone, digital organizer, camera, drinks, pudding, applesaucer, etc. (I can only eat soft stuff for a few days.) He even patiently watch craft shows with me yesterday, until I told him he could watch what he wanted because I couldn't stay awake. George made sure I had my blanket, which has a long story behind it. I'll have to post the story of my blanket later, but I have had that thing for as long as I can remember. As you can see, Sgt. Major got jealous that I had "his" spot on the couch and invaded when I got up early this morning.

I did feel good enough to work on a stitching project today. Here is the beginning, I'll post what I get done over the next two days.

Freebie Floral Scissor Case, by Ellen Maurer-Stroh
Kitted as gift by: Donna in Edmonton

All in all, I'm doing better than I thought. Everyone had me convinced that I would be in immense pain, but for now I'm good. I am only taking one pain pill instead of two, because I rarely take any meds, even Bayer, so I need smaller doses. I took two yesterday, shortly after coming home and I couldn't keep my eyes open for longer than half an hour.

Well back to stitching, I'll post more later.

Survived!

I'm home. George said it only took about a half hour. I still can't move my jaw, but the pain should arrive in about an hour. The doc said a few pieces of the root broke off and my gums should grow over them. Worst scenario would be in about 4-5 years they could bother me but he'd remove them for free.
The puppy is crazy- I think it's all the blood, my mouth is just dripping, but George set me us a little station in the living room with TV, computer and my "sick blanket". More updates later ...

If we survive ...

I am going to the dentist in the morning to have ALL FOUR of my wisdom teeth pulled. I think I am more worried because this will be the first time my husband has to take care of me ... and the puppy. He can't even give him his meds when I ask. Hopefully we will both survive the next week. In the meantime, if I leave incoherant messages here or on your page, please chalk it up to the meds ... I'm gonna ride that train as far as they'll let me!

Floral fantasies flourish

At the beginning of May George and I drove to a nearby state park that had reopened after a year. Hodges Gardens State Park was donated by the family of the man who created it in the early 50. It was a beautifully blooming place where we used to visit often. It had waterfalls that were breathe-taking but it has also since gone. In fact there are the only three flowers we could find. Maybe in the upcoming months they will plant more.

Head hanging in shame ...

I'm so sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I am beginning to realize it is because I am not happy with the way my page looks. I am trying to find more creative templates, but am having trouble finding something and I am not HTML-smart, so I can't create one. Do any of you have some ideas? I'm looking for something that reflects me –– military spouse, victorian, tea cups, PINK!

I have seen some beautiful pages, but I don't know how to make mine unique. I do have some pics to upload ... new haircut, military ball, etc., so check back. I am also having ALL of my wisdom teeth pulled on Friday, so maybe I'll have some down time to work on my page. For all of the military spouses/families who may stop by looking for support or just someone else who is in your shoes (I love shoes!), I'm sorry. I will not neglect you any longer. I do hope you are still checking in. See you all later.

Happiness is spelled F-A-M-I-L-Y

Here is our latest "family picture". See how helpful Sgt. Major is? He's helping daddy get something off his face. Anyway, I really am bummed tonight, I have the creative vibes going but it has been such a long, overwhelming day at work that I just don't have the energy to write in cohesive sentences. Anyway, I am working on two commentaries for work, so I'll post them here for comments, when I get them done. It tends to make me feel better when I get the edits back with red ink everywhere and you guys have left positive feedback. The problem with commentaries is that I have to do them in my free time so I tend to go back and forth changing things when I restart, so they tend to have more edits than articles I write from start to finish in one sitting. Later, I'm off for some R&R.

I wanna be on the D-List!

I love Kathy Griffin. Know I know that some of you may be scratching your head because she is openly against the war and I am a military spouse, but there is one thing different about Kathy than other anti-war celebs ... she still ACTIVELY supports the troops. She have been overseas multiple times to entertain them and that gets her points in my book.
I love her show, My Life on the D-List and I am anxiously awaiting her season premiere on Bravo. The channel has been running past shows leading up to it and I admit it ... I am skipping my workout to watch. There is also a new stand up show that I am anxious to see 'cause she makes fun of Lindsey Lohan! Can't wait!

Tea Time: Look what I got!

I mentioned that when we were in New Braunfels for vacation I got a teacup, but I forgot to post a pic ... so here it is! I love the unique shape of both the cup and saucer as well as the deeper saucer compared to traditional saucers. What do you think?
