The blanket

Sgt. Major has a blanket which he immediately claimed for his own the week he joined our family. Not that I minded, I am very temperature sensitive, so I have quite a collection. But he loved this blanket and we always found it balled up at the back of his kennel with his toys.

As he got older he began leaving his toys in the living room rather than hoarding them in his kennel so I began laying his blanket out in the corner with his toys on top, all within reach of "his" spot on the sofa.

Well as any pet owner knows, you have to wash a pet's blankets and such occasionally, which after the first few times he didn't mind because he knew he would get it back. The funniest thing is now that he pulls it out of the dryer and goes tearing through the house crazed like I have just given his a 100-pound slab of ribs or something.

I took pictures this past weekend, just because it probably the only 20 minutes of laughter you'll ever get from me when I am doing laundry.

(Pic 1) After running through the house, dragging in across the kitchen floor and over the bed, through the huge pile of pillows, he took it the couch here he always tries to get it in a pile so he can lay on it. A few minutes after he calmed down, I laid it on the floor and put is basket of toys on top.

(Pic 2) He then rearranges his pillows and such until that is just right (he doesn't sleep on the pillow, when he gets mad that he can't do something or he gets in trouble, he grabs it in his mouth and shakes it around, taking it out on the poor pillow.)

(Pic 3) Something still isn't right for him, so he takes half of his toys out of the basket and spreads them on the blanket. (Notice the rope his grandpa gave him? Don't even try to take that away!)

(Pic 4) Only then is it perfect and he lays down to enjoy is "decorating" skills.
