Conversations with a Toddler ...

So today, I've been packing for our road trip, had a friend come over for a lesson in sewing, took Jamie to get a haircut, and other multi-tasking duties of a mom. When we got home from the haircut I sat Jamie down with some Handy Manny, gave him some veggie sticks and headed to the bathroom before starting on some more laundry and packing. As soon I got in the bathroom this is what happens ...

(knock, knock) Jamie: Mama!?!

Me: Yes, Monkey?

Jamie: Hi!

Me: Hi!

Jamie: Mama!?!

Me: Yes, Monkey?

Jamie: Hi!

Me: Hi!

Jamie: Mama!?!

Me: Yes, Monkey?

Jamie: Hi!

Me: Baby, can you give Mommy a minute, then we can talk?

(A minute of silence)

Jamie: Uh-oh!

Me: Are you o.k. Monkey?

Jamie: uh-oh!

Me: Hold on, Mommy's coming.

I walk out the bathroom and Jamie is laying on the floor with his feet in the air and back on the ground like some sort of cartoon character who slipped on a banana peel.

Me (leaning over him): Are you o.k.? Did you fall?

Jamie: Hi! (Then he rolls over and goes to the livingroom to watch Handy Manny.)

All in a day in the live with a toddler!!
